Wall Crack Repair and PU Injection Waterproofing in Malaysia

Cracks in external walls, parapets and concrete slabs are a common way for rain to get into Malaysian homes. During a heavy, wind-driven storm, water is pushed into the crack and seeps through to the inside, leaving damp patches, bubbling paint or efflorescence on the interior wall. Surface patching with filler or paint often cracks again, because the water is still moving behind it.

PU injection waterproofing seals the crack from within. Our CIDB-registered installation partner handles wall crack leaking for terraces, semi-Ds, bungalows, shophouses and condominiums across the Klang Valley, Johor, Penang, Perak, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Kuantan. Book a free inspection to find out whether the crack is a leak problem or a structural one.

Signs of a leaking wall crack

  • Damp or wet patches on an interior wall after heavy rain
  • Bubbling, peeling paint or white salt marks (efflorescence) on plaster
  • Visible hairline or wider cracks on external walls, parapets or around window frames
  • Water seeping at the joint between a wall and a roof slab or car porch
  • Leaks through basement or retaining walls and concrete water tanks

How PU injection works

PU injection is a targeted repair: the resin goes exactly where the water travels.

  • Inspect the crack, trace where water enters and check for structural movement
  • Drill injection holes at intervals along the crack and fit packers
  • Inject polyurethane resin under pressure until it fills and seals the crack
  • Remove packers, patch the holes and make good the surface
  • Recommend external wall coating or sealing where the wall needs further protection

When PU injection is, and is not, the right fix

PU injection is ideal for non-structural cracks that leak water, in walls, slabs, parapets and concrete tanks. It is not a fix for structural cracks, such as wide diagonal cracks from settlement or cracks that keep widening. Those need assessment first; our technician will tell you if a crack looks structural.

Where the whole wall is porous rather than cracked, external wall waterproofing coating may be more suitable. Where water comes from a flat roof or porch above, roof waterproofing is the better fix.

  • Good fit: hairline to moderate cracks that leak during rain
  • Good fit: leaking construction joints and slab-wall junctions
  • Needs assessment first: wide, diagonal or widening cracks
  • Different fix: porous walls, roof slab or bathroom leaks

  • We confirm a free inspection with the nearest branch team, usually within 1 to 3 working days
  • Our technician measures the cracks, checks for movement and quotes on the spot
  • You confirm and pay a deposit; injection is usually completed in a day
  • Balance on completion and the 2-year warranty is issued

When to act on wall cracks

Repair leaking cracks before the monsoon season. Water entering a wall can rust reinforcement, damage plaster and paint, and encourage mould. Watch new cracks for a few weeks: mark the ends with a pencil and date them. If they keep growing, ask for a structural check before any waterproofing work.

Frequently asked questions

How much does wall crack repair cost in Malaysia?

Wall crack repair using PU injection waterproofing costs about RM25 to RM60 per linear ft in 2026, with a 2-year warranty. A 10 ft crack would therefore be roughly RM250 to RM600. Height, access, wall thickness and number of cracks affect the price, which is confirmed after our free inspection.

What is PU injection waterproofing?

PU injection waterproofing is a repair where polyurethane resin is pumped under pressure into a crack through small drilled holes. The resin reacts with moisture, expands and fills the crack, blocking the water path inside the wall or slab. It is widely used for leaking walls, slabs and concrete water tanks.

Why is my wall leaking when it rains?

Rain leaks through walls usually come from cracks in the external plaster, gaps around window frames, porous paint, or water running down from a parapet, roof slab or car porch joint. Wind-driven rain makes it worse. Our technician traces the entry point before deciding on PU injection or another fix.

How long does PU injection last?

Our PU injection wall crack repairs carry a 2-year warranty. Longevity depends on whether the crack is stable. On non-structural cracks that are not moving, a good injection performs well. If a crack is structural and keeps widening, it may reopen, which is why we check for movement first.

Can I fix a wall crack myself?

You can fill a small cosmetic crack with filler and paint, but that rarely stops a leak, because water still travels behind the surface. PU injection needs specialist pumps, packers and resin. Wide or growing cracks should be assessed before any repair.

Are wall cracks dangerous?

Most hairline cracks in Malaysian homes are non-structural and come from plaster shrinkage or heat movement. Wide cracks, diagonal cracks from window corners, or cracks that keep growing may indicate structural movement and should be checked. Our technician will flag any crack that needs a structural assessment.

How long does PU injection take?

Most residential PU injection jobs are completed in one working day. Larger or high cracks needing scaffolding or access equipment can take longer. The drilled holes are patched afterwards, and repainting can be arranged separately if needed. Injection can be done in most weather, though a dry day makes surface patching easier.

Is external wall waterproofing better than PU injection?

They solve different problems. PU injection seals specific leaking cracks from inside. External wall waterproofing coating protects a whole wall surface that is porous or has many fine cracks. Often the best result combines both. External wall coating is quoted after inspection.
